what Claude for Small Business leaves out

Hey, quick one this week.

Anthropic built 44 small business workflows into Claude, and every business that installs them gets the same 44.

The plugin is called Claude for Small Business, and it covers work like chasing unpaid invoices and closing your month in QuickBooks. It's a great place to start. But it's built for everyone, so out of the box a lot of it won't match how your business actually runs.

The new video shows how to set it up, then walks through the five pieces that turn it into an AI operating system for your business:

1. Company AI brain. Plain text files Claude reads first, so you stop re-explaining your business.

2. Workflow library. Your weekly tasks, sorted into what the plugin covers, what to adapt, what to build and what stays human.

3. AI team. Three ways to use AI: answering questions, doing the work, and advising you as the owner.

4. Memory and decisions. A record of what you decided and why, so your corrections actually stick.

5. The self-improving loop. A close skill you run after each work session, so the skills you corrected stay corrected.

One tip before you connect QuickBooks or anything sensitive: on Pro or Max, go to Settings, then Privacy, and turn off the setting that lets Anthropic use your chats to improve its models.
