ChatGPT’s Shared Projects is Your Team’s AI Brain
And Why We’re Only Getting 20% Of AI’s Potential

Hey, here's this week's AI Brief!
Three major AI model releases in three weeks. If your head is spinning trying to keep up, I've got you. Here's what actually matters for your workflow.
💼 In Today’s 5-min AI Brief
🛠️ Your AI Toolkit: ChatGPT Shared Project = your team’s AI brain
💭 Prompt of the Day: Recreate any photo or poster with a new person in the same style
💡 Last Week in AI: 3 big updates for Claude users, plus Google AI Studio for FREE no-code app building

ChatGPT Shared Projects = Your Team's AI Brain
What if everyone on your team could talk to the same ChatGPT, and it actually remembered everything between your collective chats?
That's what Shared Projects does. You create a workspace, upload your files, set custom instructions once, and ChatGPT remembers the context across every conversation. I breakdown how it works and 3 use cases from OpenAI in my video here.

Here's what makes it useful:
Project-only memory. ChatGPT remembers context within the project across conversations. Ask about something from last week? It knows.
Shared files and instructions. Upload your SOPs, brand guidelines, or client briefs once. Everyone works from the same foundation.
Collaborative workspace. Your whole team operates from the same AI context instead of scattered individual chats.
Here’s a real example I used last week to make a Shared Project to organize all the creative assets used across my team’s media channels. The biggest unlock for me was treating this as a living SOP that had instructions for how to adapt to edge cases. For those curious, here’s what my context files looks like for it:

💡 Last Week In AI
3 Big Updates for Claude Users
Opus 4.5 is live. Anthropic's most capable model yet. Leading coding benchmarks, infinite chat (no more context window errors), and 66% cheaper than before at $5/$25 per million tokens.
Claude for Excel. Sidebar chat that works directly in your spreadsheets. Pivot tables, charts, file uploads. Available for Max, Team, and Enterprise users.
Claude for Chrome. Instead of creating a whole new browser like some other AI companies (Perplexity), Claude went for a Chrome extension. Right now, only Claude Max users can install from the Chrome Web Store but it’ll expand soon.
Google AI Updates
Gemini 3 Pro launched November 18 and hit #1 on LMArena
Google AI Studio might be the easiest way right now for someone to build an app with AI features without knowing how to code at all. I’m testing it and so far it’s been impressive!
📖 What I’m Learning
Ilya Sutskever interview: The models seem smarter than their economic impact would imply.
The OpenAI co-founder's analogy: a student who practices 10,000 hours of competitive programming might ace the test but lack judgment to build something useful. That's how we've been training AI. Great at benchmarks but inconsistent in practice.
Satya Nadella interview: AI is like a really smart remote employee who started five minutes ago.
It can be arbitrarily intelligent, but it doesn't know your business. The thousandth query isn't smarter than the first unless you're feeding it context.
The common theme I noticed: The models are capable enough, but because people have bad data/context, they only get 20% of the utility possible with AI.
Two habits that we all need to give our AI more context:
Start with detailed documentation: playbooks, SOPs and historic task data.
Don’t skip feedback: If your AI systems fall short, take the time to explain how to improve its output.
Final Thoughts
If you made it this far and you would like the full guide of how I set up the ChatGPT Share Project with my team, let me know and I’d be happy to send that over and see what you think! And for those that celebrate thanksgiving, I hope you have a happy holidays :)
